Overview Amana Assist Home Care is a newly launched, non-medical home care agency in San Diego seeking an experienced General Manager / Administrator to lead operations, compliance, staffing, and growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a home care professional with 5+ years of home care operations experience who is energized by building systems, leading teams, and making a meaningful community impact in a start-up environment.

We see the first 30 days having a focus on HCA recruitment, onboarding and compliance set up.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Leadership

  • Oversee all daily operations of the home care agency
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, onboarding, and supervision
  • Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and operational systems
  • Build and maintain an organizational structure with clear accountability

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with all California home care regulations
  • Maintain readiness for licensing, audits, and inspections
  • Train staff on agency policies, procedures, and ethical standards
  • Oversee quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts

Staffing & Culture

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain qualified caregivers and staff
  • Ensure employees meet licensing, training, and competency requirements
  • Lead ongoing training and performance management
  • Foster a compassionate, accountable, and professional workplace culture

Financial & Strategic Management

  • Develop and manage the annual operating budget
  • Monitor financial performance and expenses
  • Prepare reports for the Governing Body
  • Support growth initiatives and community partnerships

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of home care operations or leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of California home care regulations and compliance
  • Experience managing staff, scheduling, and agency operations
  • Ability to work in a start-up or growth-stage environment
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to be on-call for client or staffing emergencies as needed

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability to pass Live Scan Fingerprint Clearance (LIC 9163)
  • Completion of SOC 341A – Mandated Reporter Acknowledgment
  • Valid I-9 Employment Eligibility documentation
  • Basic computer proficiency (data entry, word processing)
  • High school diploma required; advanced education preferred

This position is a mandated reporter of suspected elder and dependent adult abuse and neglect in accordance with California law.
